Lightning Mitigation

Lightning.jpg
“Can you stop my boat from being hit by lightning?”

The answer absolutely NOT.  No one can.  If you are unlucky enough to take a direct strike, nothing will stop the direct strike.

Some companies claim they can reduce the chance by adding a dissipater and other methods but this has NEVER been proven.

What can be done, is to design a system of bonding and dissipation to reduce the damage that will be done if you are struck.

Arrestors can be added to antenna lines to help protect equipment. Surge protectors can divert smaller transients as well. But none of these devices will stop damage from a direct strike.

REA Technical Services can evaluate your vessel, design a bonding system and install it as well. This small investment can save you thousands of dollars later.
